David and Holly Hughes were both raised in Hawaii. After they married, David played six years in the NFL and Holly danced and taught Hula professionally. They both received Christ on the same day after a few years of studying the Bible.
David and Holly have been in full-time ministry since 1999, and David served as Missions Pastor at Antioch Bible Church from 2001 to 2013. Their oldest daughter, Lahela is a missionary with Hellenic Ministries and lives in Greece along with her family.
In early 2013, the Lord called them to begin a new ministry, Paraclete46, which focuses on encouraging and equipping athletes in the inner city of Seattle. Currently they are focusing on the Rainier Beach High School football team and their families.

“In an insane world, here’s a little bit of sanity where kids can feel safe and secure,” he said. “Here’s a chance for a better environment where they have a chance to prosper. Here we are smaller. We can get our arms around it and we can mother hen these kids. There’s a lot of love here and they’re getting a lot of individual attention.”
