MINISTRY IN A TIME OF DISTANCING

The past couple of months have been a bit difficult for Holly and I having gone through the deaths of two friends and two ministry relationships as well. And now with the "Shelter in place" order, it is especially hard for me as I'm such a people person. I miss being with the student-athletes and their families. But rest assured I am complying & all of my communication with the guys has gone online only!

When the gym closed down I had to change "how" I was going to do ministry given all the restrictions. Just when I felt like I was making major inroads with many of them.  After workouts, I'd hand out protein drinks, this is when the doors would open wide for me to speak into their lives about the things that matter, namely Christ, His story and their future.

I've been staying in touch with the fellas via social media, even youtube! I've shared a few workout videos with the fellas and if they can make it through without breaking a sweat - I'd be shocked!  Monday marked the first day that they tried it and it got an overwhelming thumbs up!  I will continue in this fashion as well as weekly personal phone calls until the CDC and our government deems we are good to reconnect in person.

Much has changed since 2020 has begun, but as believers, we are called to "stand firm", "press on", & "fix our eyes on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith".  As we adjust to the new normal I pray the church will not grow weary in well-doing but will take her place for such a time as this and be the catalyst for a revival!
